Dr. Manalai began his journey in medicine by obtaining his M.D. from the prestigious Avicenna State Medical College of Kabul in Kabul, Afghanistan in 2001. Following this, he embarked on a trainee medical officer (TMO) position at the Department of Otolaryngology, Head, and Neck Surgery Kuwait Joint Relief Committee Hospital (KJRC-Kuwait Hospital) in Peshawar, Pakistan in 2002. This experience allowed him to develop a comprehensive understanding of the field and further hone his skills.

 

Determined to expand his knowledge beyond medicine, Dr. Manalai pursued a B.A. in Molecular Biology from Berea College in Berea, KY, which he completed in 2006. This additional qualification provided him with a unique perspective on the connection between the biological and psychological aspects of human health.

 

In 2011, Dr. Manalai completed his Adult Psychiatry Residency at the Department of Psychiatry Residency Training Program, St. Elizabeth's Hospital, Washington DC. This rigorous training further solidified his expertise in the field and prepared him for the challenges he would face in his career.

 

Currently, Dr. Manalai holds several esteemed positions in the medical community. He serves as the Medical Director of Snowden at Fredericksburg Mary Washington Health Care, where he showcases his leadership skills and dedication to providing excellent patient care. Additionally, he works as an Attending Psychiatrist at the Psychiatric Institute of Washington, where he utilizes his extensive knowledge and experience to support individuals in need of psychiatric care. Furthermore, he holds the position of Associate Clinical Professor at the Washington University School of Medicine, where he has the opportunity to inspire and educate the future generation of medical professionals.
